Description
A well-drained potting mix is absolutely essential for African violets, which have a delicate relationship with water. Poor drainage leads to soggy soil, which can quickly cause root rot – a dreaded decaying disease- by not allowing excess water to drain through the potting mix and out the bottom. On the other side of the equation, African violets also do not like to dry all the way out, their potting mix should remain *moist*, not water-logged.
