Bonsai Mix

Description

Regardless of what bonsai species you have, bonsai trees need lots of water and require soil that drains incredibly well as a result. Your soil should have an open, granular consistency so that water can freely flow through it without becoming easily compacted over time. While many bonsai soil mixes are entirely inorganic, they tend to be slightly higher maintenance than soil that contains some organic matter and will likely require more frequent waterings during the hot summer months. As a result, this blend contains an equal part of pine bark for added moisture retention.
